Understand the fun of mold making and why someone may choose to incorporate it in to their practice.
In this workshop we will cover the basic techniques, step-by-step to cast an object in plaster.
The demonstration will utilize alginate as our molding material, however we will discuss various methods/options for moldmaking. Together we will begin by examining our original model and discuss how to secure the model in place and put up dam walls to replicate the form. Next step, make the mold! Students will learn when and why alginate is a good application. Our final step is mixing, pouring, and divesting the plaster positive!
All skill levels welcome. No prerequisites. All you need is a computer and a good internet connection!
